Calling all progressives! The Alarm needs you. We are looking for Contributors who have the desire and the ability to really look at the issues that concern each and every one of us. From the environment to the economy, we need people willing and able to take the time to look deeper into the issues that interest them and arm us with the facts and analysis that make us all more responsible citizens. You don't have to be an expert, all you need is an informed opinion and the ability to lead us to the info that informed that opinion. We'll help you with the rest. We need Contributors in the following areas: (click on topic to learn more)

  • Environmental Issues
  • Budget and Economy
  • Military Issues
  • Political Cartoons
  • Entertainment
  • Diversity

Editors:

Do you feel that you have more to contribute than just posts? Do you want to lead the debate and set the agenda? Then you should become an Editor at the Alarm. We need people to take the reins of our various sections and even suggest new ones if you think we need them. You would be responsible for recruiting new Contributors, copy editing new posts, generating story ideas, maintaining the blog and link lists, and deciding what posts make their way into the monthly review, (which is still under development). (click on the above topic lists for more info)

Charity Coordinators:

The Alarm wants to be more than just a blog. We want to be a uniting force for the progressive community and contributor to the general welfare of our community and that means civic involvement. Our first goal is an establishment of a list of charities around the world that we think need to be supported, that's why we have established The Alarm Spotlight Charities page, but we need people to bring those worthy causes to our attention and the attention of our readers. Charity Coordinators will research charitable organizations and post their info including links to donating on the Spotlight Charities page. In addition Charity Coordinators will help us participate in local charity events by creating fundraising campaigns that will bring our readership together in the community.
